Vintage Yone Japan Tinplate Clockwork Wind-Up Mouse Toy 1970s
£12.00
Here we have a fantastic piece of vintage toy history featuring an original 1970s tinplate clockwork wind-up mouse, originally manufactured by the legendary Yone toy company in Japan. This item is the authentic, late-era production variant of the famous Model No. 2094. It perfectly showcases the transition era of toy manufacturing, featuring a beautifully detailed metal lithographed body with flat-printed ears, a fixed built-in butterfly winding key on the side, and its original hard plastic tail.
When wound, the internal mechanism works beautifully as the mouse darts forward, breaks into a frantic, erratic circling motion, and wags its tail to mimic a real scurrying mouse. In this particular 1970s production run, this variant was manufactured without a stamped maker's mark on the body. The toy combines a vibrant lithographed tinplate upper shell with the durable molded metal base.
The toy is in very good vintage condition with bright lithograph colours and a small amount of surface wear. The clockwork mechanism has been tested and winds smoothly, scurrying and circling exactly as it should. Please see the photos for the exact cosmetic condition.
