Vintage 1999 Mattel Toy Story 2 Strummin' Singin' Woody Doll – Tested & Working
Vintage 1999 Mattel Strummin' Singin' Woody doll released for Toy Story 2. This collectible figure features Woody in his classic sitting pose, complete with his attached musical guitar and his removable brown cowboy hat.
This interactive Woody figure features two entertaining performance modes, allowing him to either sing the lyrics out loud or whistle the melodies. He plays three classic tunes, including the iconic You've Got a Friend In Me, Home on the Range, and Oh Susanna. To switch between his singing voice and his whistling tracks, you simply press the designated mode selection buttons located directly on the front of the guitar body.
Operating the musical feature relies on a clever interactive system where you simulate strumming the instrument. A built-in light sensor on the plastic guitar detects the motion of Woody's hand or your finger passing over it to advance the music note by note. As a fun, built-in play gimmick, Woody will occasionally experience a broken string sound effect that stops the performance. To fix this, you just need to turn the tuning pegs on the headstock of the guitar, which simulates tuning up the instrument so Woody can resume playing his music.
Condition: The doll is in overall very good pre-owned condition with clean fabric and vibrant colors. It has been fully tested and the electronic guitar functions perfectly, playing music and voice lines as intended. Cosmestically, there are some light surface scratches and minor scuffs on the front plastic face of the guitar from normal play as well as a mark on the side of Woody's face just underneath the chin. Please see all photos for a closer look at the exact cosmetic condition, there is no major structural damage or deep cracks. The signature "ANDY" text is clearly visible on the bottom of his boot.
